Youth Volunteer Information & Opportunities
The Ronald McDonald House staff is thrilled to have individuals of all ages volunteer for our House. Many area students fulfill their community service requirements through our organization and frequently, youth groups complete a day of service at our House.
Students 15 years of age and older may refer to the “Adult Volunteer Information and Opportunities” list. We have no weekend volunteer opportunities execpt as a “guest chef”. Volunteers who are 15 years of age or older may volunteer in the House without additional supervision. Those age 11 to 14 may choose from the volunteer opportunities listed below. Our hope is that your child learns the value of serving those in need around their community!
For those age 11 to 14 may earn hours in the **following ways:
1 pound of aluminum (pop tabs or aluminum cans) = 1 hour
2 old cell phones or used ink cartridges for recycling =1 hour
Bringing in 1 dozen baked goods = 1 hour
Preparing a full meal for our families (an entrée, 1-2 sides, a bread, and a dessert) = 4 hours
Please contact us ahead of time to schedule meal donations.
Preparing a homemade casserole we can freeze and use at a later date = 2 hours
Donating items from any of our “Needs Lists” (1 hour credit for each $5 spent on “needs list” which can be found on our web site at www.rmhcwga.org.
If you are under the age of 18, a Middle or High School student, or have a group of young people who are interested in volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, please complete the Teen Volunteer Application for ages 15 to 17 or Youth Volunteer Application for ages 14 and under.
