ADULT VOLUNTEER INFORMATION & OPPORTUNITIES
Ms. Beth Mancini, Program Manager, handles the volunteer program for our House. If you are interested in volunteering with the RMHC of West Georgia, Inc., please review the opportunities listed below and then complete the Adult Volunteer Application. Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions:Administrative Support: Volunteers assist with answering House phones, administrative tasks and House tours. Additional daily tasks include replenishing guest rooms, checking laundry, tidying up the kitchen and checking supplies. Hours: Three hour shift every other week. (3 hours of credit given per shift) "Guest Chef" Meal Donation: Cook and deliver (or purchase) a meal consisting of an entree, 1-2 side dishes, bread and dessert once a month. Food can be provided by the cook or can be taken from the Ronald McDonald House pantry. Volunteers are asked to call the House 1-2 days in advance of their scheduled night to determine the number of people to feed and what meals have been previously served. Hours: 1 meal per month (4 hours of credit given per meal prepared) Weekend Manager: (Must be 25 or older. Please speak with the Program Manager about additional volunteer eligibility requirements.) Responsible for family assistance and House operations Friday evening through Sunday evening. Weekend Manager is required to stay on premises during the day and reside overnight in the Weekend Manager's suite. Hours: Friday 6:00 pm through Sunday 6:00 pm., once per quarter. (24 hours of credit given per shift) Seasonal Decoration of the House: Responsible for unpacking and displaying seasonal decorations in the House and repacking / storing decorations at the end of the season / holiday. Decorations are provided by the Ronald McDonald House. Hours: Flexible Special Events: Assists with planning and implementing special events and fundraisers which includes planning for food, decorations, invitations, hospitality, etc. Hours: As needed, determined by events. Pop-Tab Program Assistance: Assist with the pick-up of tabs from area schools that participate in the Pop-tab Contest. Hours: As needed, usually in April and May. |
